Trackwork at Pukekura Raceway
Tuesday 30th May 2017
Course Proper. Markers Out 22m. Heavy.

With races at Hawera on Sunday, followed by jump outs there on Monday, it was a quiet morning at Pukekura Raceway.

Ladies First was partnered by Landlord over a solid 1400m, the last 600m in 39.3. It was great work. Ladies First will be one of the favourites on Saturday at Wanganui after her strong victory last start.

Catwomandu and Darci Mac ran 1000m, the last 600m in 39 even. Darci Mac, whilst a trifle disappointing lately, can bounce back.

Another Sharrock duo, Icehouse and IIshinktaatledo were matched over 1000m, the last 600 in 39.3, again it was strong work.

The Ilone Kelly duo of Red Rascal and Our Chloe worked over 1200m, the last 600 in 41.8.

The Wheeler trained jumpers, Yardstick, Mendoza, and Fair Script, worked two rounds on the sand before galloping a round on the course proper, the last 600m in 42. They are extremely fit.

Katie McKeen and Sakura, from the Gary McBeth stable worked a solid 1200m, the last 600m in 39.2. They will be very competitive all winter, the way they are working.

The Castletown Stakes bound Kaliper worked with King Nero over 800m, the last 600m in 40.3. Kaliper show promise.

The only other horse who worked on the course proper was an O’Reilly mare from the Ilone Kelly stable. She worked alone over 1000m, the last 600 in 41.2.

BROUGHT TO YOU BY next race day at Pukekura Raceway, Winter Race Day, Thursday 8th June.
