 Trackwork at Pukekura Raceway

Course Proper. Track Slow. Markers out 20m 

The course proper started slow but chopped out significantly in a busy morning at Pukekura Raceway.

Recent winner, Call Doubt, worked over a solid 1200, the last 600m in 38.1. He thrives at New Plymouth.

Star track workers were the Janelle Millar pair of Time Bomb and Hard To Be Humble, who also worked a strong 1200m, the last 600m in a quick 37.6. Both appear ready to win.

The Sharrock pair of Whispering and Telluwhat worked over 1000m the last 600m in a comfortable 38.1.

Their stablemates Art Deco and Party Marty worked over 1200m, the last 600 in 39.6. Art Deco is headed toward the Merial Mile.

Agooddeal and Mastercourtsman worked an even 1000m, the last 600 in 39.2. Mastercourtsman is coming to hand well after a short break.

The Bolton pair of Vincent and Villie sprinted sharply the last 600m of their work in 37.3. Both are possible Wanganui entrants.

The impressive last start winner Hermanito was accompanied by a Pour Moi stablemate. They worked away from the 1000m, clocking 37.5 for the last 600m. Hermanito couldn’t have been more impressive first up and looks a potential black type performer.

The Allan Sharrock trained Mars Bar and Mihaul weren’t after slick time when working the last 600m of their work in 38.9 both have ability.

The Wheeler runners worked on the sand over 2-3 rounds before sprinting the last 600m on the course proper. These were Heistheone and Mendoza 39.9, Macklemore and Castel 40.1, Ledbury and Newstead 40.9, and Adequacy and Sublime Habit 41.2.

John Wheeler is toying with the idea of putting the Maiden Steeplechaser Medonza in the Great Northern. He will be represented by Sunday winner, Stormin Norman in the Great Northern hurdle.

The Paewai team of Rosewood and Batchelor Babe ran 600m in 40.0. The team is in rare form having won their past three starts between them.

Battle Kat and Lovethefeeling looked good running the last 600m of their work in 39.8. Whilst the impressive Blanco Belle and Light Em Up ran an even quicker 37.9.
