Trackwork at Pukekura Raceway

Course Proper. Track Dead. Markers out 22m 

Time honour on the morning went to the Sharrock duo of Hoist and Turncoat. They went a strong 1000m, the last 600m in 36.5. It was impressive work. Kawi and Ladies First did similar work the last 600m slightly slower in 36.9.

The first starter Lorde Have Mercy showed dash over 1000m, the last 600 in 37.8. Her first race is on her home track on Thursday, and she is not without a chance.

Stablemate Alamacpherson and Stylish Applause pleased over an easy 1000m, the last 600m in 37.9. Alamacpherson is balloted out on Thursday and is a chance if she regains the field.

Ruby Love was partnered with Hezhightensile over an even 1000m, running the last 600m in 37.2. This was sound work.

Mars Bar and Fields Of Fire did similar work, the last 600m in 37.8. The breaks didn’t go Mars Bar’s way last start but he will make amends soon.

The Bryce Revell pair of Secret Squirrel and Ngariki Flyer weren’t after time running an even 1000m, the last 600 in 39.7. Secret Squirrel will be very hard to beat on Thursday, at the Pukekura Raceway Christmas At The Races meeting.

Vincent was partnered by an unnamed Road To Rock over 1000m, the last 600m in 38.2. Vincent is now in the Rob Patterson barn and his progress will be watched with interest.

The final solo gallops were over 1000m, with the last 600m indicated in the brackets – Spondulix (39.9), Whispering (37.2), Smokin’ Hot (40.1), Choux Play (40.2). Spondulix is an each way chance Thursday.
